Great Wolf Lodge

From 2009 - Winter pics
Wow, it's been a very busy two weeks and I've had no time to post so I'll try to catch up a bit now. A few weekends ago, Nana took my sister-in-law Jennifer, her kids Kelly, Sarah Beth and Casey and the twins to the Great Wolf Lodge in Dallas. The guys took their annual fishing trip to Mexico so, this year, the girls decided to get out of town, too! The Great Wolf Lodge is seriously like a mini-Disney World with an indoor water park and a million kids' activities, crafts and shops. Once we arrived, we never left! We were surprised to find that the twins were pretty scared of the water - they would wade in a bit but mostly wanted to be held. No water slides this year! The other cousins were fearless, so I'm confident J and C will take to the water soon! It was a crazy-busy vacation, but a trip I would highly recommend to other families.

The twins and I drove down to Dallas a day early to meet one of my oldest and best friends, Susan, who was in town for work. We had a fun Chic-Fil-A lunch then drove over to another old and best friend's house for a visit, Lori. The kiddos played for a while (she has four!) and I noticed Jackson was a bit of a bear, very cranky. I also noticed he was really warm, so I cuddled with him on the floor and we gave him some infant Tylenol. Soon after, he began having a febrial seizure (had no idea what that meant before, but I sure do now!), which scared us all to death. Lori has tons of medical training and Susan is super calm under pressure, so with their help we called the ambulance and caught a quick ride to the childrens' hospital. Jackson had double ear infections and was totally fine once we got to the hospital, but it was a horrifying experience. All the medical drama happens to that poor boy! I'm just so grateful for my calm, amazing friends - I have no idea what I would have done if I'd been alone or driving... let's just not think about it... Special thanks to Lori for watching Carli while Susan and I went to the hospital. I hear Lori has pics of Carli and her son Jack in the tub together, so I'm hoping to post them soon :)

We got back home on Monday and met my mom (GanGan) when we arrived. We spent a wonderful few days with her - the kids were extra cuddly and playful and super cooperative. Yay!
