Easter Parties

Easter parties are yet again all the rage!

On Saturday, we celebrated best buddy Will's fourth birthday with an Easter Egg Hunt and a special visit from the Easter bunny. The twins have gotten the hang of the art of hunting and are pretty competitive - and fast!

We also welcomed the Easter season with the kids at their schools last week. Both parties were just perfect for the kids - short and sweet with some singing and lots of snacks!

FPC Easter Egg Hunt!

On Sunday afternoon, our church hosted our first annual Easter Egg Hunt & Cookout. We invited kids by sending them an invite-filled jumbo egg - yes, those will go through the mail with enough postage!

We met at the Lower Dam and let the kids go crazy on the playground while the adults hid the eggs (well, threw them all over the field). Most of the kids were still little, so they had a blast racing to the eggs and grabbing up as many as they could carry.

The twins are old pros now but this was Evie's first hunt! She had much help from our beloved Breanne and babysitters (Alyssa, Elizabeth and Chelsea) and loved every minute of it. She did try to put a dodge ball in her basket before she got the hang of it, but she's a quick learner :) She also had lots of playtime with her best friend, Alice. They are about six months apart and have become pretty inseparable at church. So cute to watch! She also made time to love on Mary Erwin - Evie is a year older than M.E. and she just loves on her like a baby doll. Yes, we keep a close eye on her!

We are so thankful for our church community!!

More Soccer

The Spring season is really quick - only four games - but by the end Jackson was really getting the hang of it. He immediately went out to play at the start of the game and would need a break often, but he ran and played hard whenever he was in. We're really proud of him! Carlisle, we found, is an excellent cheerleader and snack distributor!

Signs of Spring.

First Sonic milkshake. First flowers in the backyard. First of many family grills outside. Perfection.

Kickin' Around

This Spring we signed the twins up for soccer. Our friend J.R. is the coach and his son, Jack, plays on the team. We had fun picking out soccer balls and shin guards at Target a few weeks ago (pink for CarCar, red for Jackson Camper) and Kendal and I have been kicking the ball around with them in the backyard to get them ready.

The practices and games started off a little shaky, but are getting steadily better. While Carlisle loves to play at home, organized sports are not as of yet "her thing" but she likes to be outside at the games. Jackson is a little more into it and will go in to play several times during a game. It's great to watch him on the field with his friends - he's growing up too fast! Well, darn it, all three of them are!

Gator

Last week Lake DeGray offered a "Meet a Gator" interpretation, so we loaded up the twins and headed out to... meet a gator. The lecture was pretty interesting (yes, we do have gators in Arkansas but, no, not on Lake DeGray thank goodness) and the ranger held the baby gator the entire time. No chomping, again thank goodness.

Carlisle wasn't too excited when it came time to pet the alligator, but after some gentle prodding Jackson was game. As usual, Kendal is the champ!
