Snow Day #4 and 5

Wow - why we have not invested in full ski suits and sleds is beyond me. We are now on our FIFTH snow day this year. The kids aren't complaining! It's a little taxing on the parents, but we have had lots of good time to play outside. For south Arkansas, we can bundle up okay!

On Saturday, the twins best friend Will came over to sled. The dads took care of the sledding while the moms took way too many pictures. The very next day, Will's little brother Henry was born so it was such a treat to have a relaxed afternoon with the Eldridge family. And our welcome and love to Henry, the "Fifth Twin" :)

Today it snowed again. We took the kids outside for a while after naps for impromptu sledding and snow angel making. Thank you, Uncle Owen, for the ingenious "sleds"! Evie got cole pretty quickly but Kendal stayed outside with the twins for at least an hour while the little gal and I made another round of snow ice cream. Watch out, Blue Bell, I think I am getting pretty good at this!

Snow Ice Cream Shoppe

Winter Wonderland #2! We woke up this morning to - surprise! - more snow. It's again the beautiful, powdery "stuff" with very little ice. Schools were closed (but the twins' daycare open, hallelujah!) so we got a down day with Evie. When the twins got home it was time to brave the cold, scoop up some snow and open our own little ice cream shoppe!

Even though Evie's face was pretty skeptical, I think the ice cream turned out pretty good! Not Blue Bell, but what can measure up there? The kids had fun, we had a great treat, everyone is happy! Let it snow :)

Truckin'

Just a fun winter's day trucking through the backyard! The weather was beautiful and just perfect for a little time outside with the kiddos. The twins are really getting the hang of their new truck and are even letting Evie ride with them!

Yes, Carlisle got a little haircut this past week. During the Great Winter Storm of 2011 she got a little bored and decided to give herself a new style. A quick fix-it cut at my favorite salon and - ta da! - a new chic look!

We got to spend New Year's with some of our best friends - and all the kids! We had a great time (even made it until midnight EST!), ate a ton and made a special girls' run to our friend Karen's party. Great night and a great new year!

@ the Hattiesburg Zoo

While in Mississippi we had a fun afternoon with one of my oldest friends Susan (in town from Chicago) and my sister Anna and husband Matt. As always, the kids loved the zoo! Can't wait to do Audubon Zoo in New Orleans one day soon!
