Celebrations All Around!

This past weekend, we loaded up the family truckster and headed to Shreveport for a long weekend full of celebrations. We spent a quiet Thursday night with Kendal's parents enjoying taco soup and much "blanket time" with the twins. On Friday, Lauren and Julia Claire braved the mean streets of Shreveport with THREE infants (Jackson Camp, Carlisle and cousin Michael) - already sorely outnumbered! We met Aunt Shannon for lunch then took all the kiddos to Shannon's office for coworker introductions. The plan from there was to shop a bit but everyone was so tired we headed for home. Passing up on shopping would have been unheard of a mere year ago, but Lauren was glad for the rest.

The Land Clan met up with the Jankowski bunch for dinner at Superior - it was a zoo! At least 10 people asked us - in horror - if one of us had quadruplets! Four car seats in a crowded restaurant made for quite a conversation piece. We were so excited to catch up with our friends, share twin stories and gear the kids up for future meals of crawfish quesadillas! We had a great night and had to go home all too soon to put all of the kids to bed. It truly is one of God's many miracles that some of our best friends also have twins and we can share this unique experience for years to come. And the clothes swapping isn't bad, either!

On Saturday, Lauren headed for Little Rock for a post-baby Spa Day for friend Laura. It was a great girly-day and an opportunity for our friends to share in Laura's excitement as a new mom. Kendal stayed in Louisiana with the kids and had a quiet day. On Sunday, we were able to celebrate the baptism of cousins Casey and Michael in a beautiful worship service. Both Jackson Camper and Carlisle were troopers and stayed amazingly quiet during the entire service - thank goodness for small miracles! The entire service was themed around "baptism" and reminded us how lucky we all are to be God's beloved children. We continued the celebration with a big lunch at the Lands' home. Congratulations, Casey and Michael!
