Little Babies Like Big Cookies

Life has been busy this past week! Last weekend, Lauren took the twins to visit her grandmother and parents in Mississippi. The kids were traveling champs and loved seeing "Big Daddy" and "Gan Gan" for a quick weekend. C & J also got to meet their Aunt Suzanne, in from Arizona to visit our grandmother in this hospital. Kendal took advantage of the downtime with a day of fishing with his brother - all in preparation for the upcoming fishing trip in Mexico! Kendal went fishing again on Sunday and, as Napoleon Dynamite would say, "caught you a delicious bass" which he prepared for dinner. Yum!

Yesterday the twins celebrated their first Valentine's Day with a party at their daycare center. When I came to pick them up, Miss Carlisle was covered in pink frosting! Apparently the toothless wonder was able to eat FOUR COOKIES during the party - and she was so proud of herself! Jackson Camper enjoyed one cookie while his sister tore into four... I hate I missed the party, though I'm sure I would have been very freaked out to see them eating cookies! We promptly went home and enjoyed garden veggies and sweet potatoes - luckily they ate everything without complaint!
The Land Clan went to our favorite restaurant for a special Valentine's dinner. Usually open only for breakfast and lunch, the restaurant had a jazz band and tuxedoed-waiters served a wonderful meal. The kids were fantastic and enjoyed playing with their new favorite restaurant toy - spoons! Jackson Camper scared us to death with a quick Houdini escape attempt out of the high chair, but Kendal grabbed him just in time and held him in his lap the rest of the meal! Which is clearly what the smart boy wanted, anyway... It was the perfect Valentine's Day and being able to spend it with these beautiful kids was a blessing in every way. Just one year ago our Valentine's Day was spent at the doctor's office, finding out we were having a BOY and a GIRL! And today we all dined together (and luckily did not disturb the other diners! The kids were amazing, happy and quiet!).
