On Thursday, we took the twins to a Ouachita party at the Arkadelphia Aquatic Park. We had not visited the park with kids before and were really amazed by all the amenities for children - a zero entry pool, lots of water toys, a frog slide and more! The twins are still getting used to the water, so each visit to the pool is a little risky. This time, they took to the water immediately and had a GREAT time!! Jackson Camper crawled to his dad and soon was doing the doggie paddle in the water - he was almost swimming on his own and laughing the whole time! Carlisle dunked her face in the water to blow bubbles - we think she learned from her buddy Will the last time they went swimming! She was really pleased with herself, it was cute. The pool party was cut short by thunder and some far-off lightening (no rain, just thunder) so the twins got to enjoy some icing-heavy cupcakes and were VERY happy!
On Friday, we got to play with MORE twins! Our friend Karen's friend from college, Jenny, was visiting from Louisiana and she brought her nearly 2-year old twins Mac and Omi over for a playdate. Twin mania! We all played on the swingset in the backyard, rode in the red wagon, then came in for snacks. The kids played hard and had TWO long naps on Friday (mom also took two naps!). That night, Kendal got to go fishing with his new friend Brent.
Yesterday (Saturday), Kendal babysat the twins while I got a mom's day out shopping day! I went with my friend Heather to Target and Old Navy, found tons of great deals on fall clothing for the kids and had a great time. To make the day even more fun (and unusual for us!) we had a baby-sitter come over so we could celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. It was a really fun day, but I did miss the kids a lot and we've been playing all morning, getting ready to think about getting ready for church...
